If you are not planning to display your photos right away, or need to store them for any length of time, you’ll need a good-quality archival photo storage system; simply dropping your photos into a cardboard box and stashing them in the attic or worse, the basement absolutely will not do. Archival storage boxes are specially designed to protect your photos from what people commonly call “the ravages of time,” which are actually dust, UV rays, moisture, acidity and other environmental pollutants. clear bags and acid free mount board are also necessary in addition to proper photo storage boxes in order to protect your photos properly as part of a comprehensive archival photo storage solution.
Here’s the problem: the papermaking process has historically involved the use of chemicals that leave traces of acidity. These acids are in such low amounts that they do not harm us; however, these trace chemicals can cause interactions with the chemical dyes used on the photos themselves. This is the primary reason for using acid free mount board as well as crystal clear acid free plastic bags. When acid comes in contact with your photos, discoloration and brittleness can result, ultimately causing the complete destruction of your valuable non-digital images. Mounting the photos will keep them flat and rigid while in storage, and the clear bags will protect them from moisture as well.
Acid free mount board as well as photo storage boxes have been especially treated with a high pH level, alkaline substance that is designed to neutralize any form of acid that could come in contact with the surface of your photos. This substance is known as a buffering agent, and is used in all good quality archival and framing materials.
Another threat to your photos comes from sunlight, ironically enough. Although light is necessary in order to take traditional photos, the sun’s ultraviolet rays can cause photos to fade. This is another reason for proper archival photo storage solutions.
Of course, you should not tempt fate; archival photo storage should not be done in a basement or garage, or any other place that is subject to dampness, temperature extremes or chemical pollution. The best place to put your archival storage boxes is a shelf in a closet that is dark, dry and remains at a fairly constant.
Archival photo storage is a science, but it is not a complex one; it is simply a matter of having the proper tools and elements for the job. Just make sure that the phot storage boxes and other materials of the highest quality you can afford, and do you archival photo storage in a place that is temperature constant and free of humidity.
Help answer the question about archive
What program should I use to archive my audio cd's on my computer?
I have about 70 audio cd's that I want to archive on my computer. I want a program that retains the albums together, and archives to an easy format for listening and burning later. I have downloaded before, but choose to support the artists by buying the cd. I keep the hardcopy of the album unplayed, just burn cdr copies so i dont have scratched masters that I need to buy agian (Ive bought Wu Forever 8 times). I'd rather keep them on my external Hard Drive, so what programs are good?

Amazing…
The best thing I could think of would be deviant art where you can upload both pictures and literature. What you added wouldn't be the only things on the site but if you had a username you could create a gallery which can also had different categories.

Bravenet would also be pretty good because it has lots of wed tools such as blogs, albums, forums and free websites; any of which could be used for your own needs. http://www.bravenet.com/
You could also use a free website maker such as piczo which can be used to create almost anything really. http://pic6.piczo.com/go/lobby
Or you could always start a blog on something like Live Journal and use each entry as a new story (making sure to use the Live journal Cut' and archive to your full advantage). http://www.livejournal.com/
fantastic video!
they are automatically archived. to see old messages there is a chart at the bottom of the group site, click on the month you wish to see.
The more I watch this video, the stronger feeling I get that she is actually hurting and not just painting herself… Amazing!
Sorry but for regular Yahoo Messenger you cannot do that because the archives are saved on your computer. I guess you could save your archives to a flash drive or cd but say you are staying at a friends house, you could not put those archives on their computer, nor would you want to for privacy reasons, because it would replace their own chat archives. I am sure your friend would not be very happy.
But…If you use Yahoo Messenger for the Web that has an instant message history that you can enable which is stored on the Yahoo servers and therefore can be accessed from any computer as long as you have your name and password. There is no download required. Though the last 2 times I tested the message history feature of the web messenger, I could not get it to work. Maybe it is a temporary glitch. I sure hope so for those who use this a lot.
use another clean folder and zip. it is the same.
dont forget password.

See if you can obtain a telephone number to try reaching out to them. If they are located near where you live, stop by the office to see if you can meet with the person in charge of the archives.
If they don't respond to you, no matter how valuable their information may be to your research, you will have to find other sources to complete your research.
Good luck I hope all turns out well for you.
try imprting the tapes onto your computer via a program such as adobe premier and then exporting to dv tape, alternativly, if you have a 2nd dv camera you can copy direct from camera to camera as long as dv in is enabled on the 2nd camera…. there should be no loss of quality when you do this
In Print, the only way to do that is loose leaf binding, replacing
altered pages as they come up.
We do it with construction Codes etc.
sad but true
The only way i have been able to read archives is when Im on the computer that I had the sessions on. When on a mac, it would only show me the mac chats, and when on pc it would only show me those conversations. Not sure if that helps or not, but thats what I found out on my own expirence.
you can choose to have your leagues set as private on your fantasy profile page, but even then the public leagues will still appear.
and they don't need to ask you, you okay'd the terms of service and they repeatedly state you are not to assume anything you do on yahoo! is private.
and fyi, they won't delete or hide anything you request in your sports profile. ever.

you could either use a scanner, or take photos of them using a digital camera. I used the second way frequently to archieve my photo albums.
If you have Messenger Plus, Open My Documents>My Chat Logs. If you have the normal one, open My Documents>My Recieved Files

Actually, unless you disabled it , the default setting for Messenger is to SAVE all messages.
To get to them Click Contacts on the Messenger Toolbar and scroll to Archive. Click there and look for your messages by person's name and date of message.
Once you find the message you can open it by double/clicking on it.
Also, in the Archive Toolbar, you can click Message and see your options for the message you just opened, including copying it.
Good luck! By the way, you're right, because Messenger only works on the computer of the account owner, you're not able to access it from anywhere else.
Thats the radio edition…
Das Lied wir immer bei “Unter Uns” gespielt in traurigen Situationen. Klasse Song, wirklich schön
You can't get unsaved messages back from the archives. Each computer is different, your settings won't carry to the new one.
Yes you can save them in folders, that way it will clear out your inbox, even the sent bin if you wanted to. Open the inbox, click the little box in front of one of the emials you want to save, just to start, then click Move, when it opens click New Folder, you will get a popup, give the folder a name, Now that email you click on the box is in there. You can put as many as you want into a folder, or make separate folders Just repeat this process, only after you have created the folder, all you need to do is click on the email, click move, click the folder and it's in there. You can click several at once by clicking the little box in front of each one.
